Fredna Wilaminia Waters, DDS, 65, of 6015 Athens St. died Monday, June 15, 1998.

A native of Georgia, Dr. Waters was a daughter of the late W. E. and India Parson Gowder. She received a bachelor's degree from the
University of Georgia and attended Marquette University School of Dentistry as the only female in her class. She was a retired dentist
and of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Homer, with the Rev. Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will be
in the church cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Callie Waters, Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, Sydne Thad Waters II, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Will Waters,
Lithonia; four sisters, Callie Burke, Atherton, Calif, Edna Elrod, Clarksville, Elanor Reid, Ellenwood, and Ethel Tanner, Demorest; a
brother, Swayne Gowder, Macon; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, GA.
