Mr. Lemuel Grover Blalock of Augusta, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010.

Mr. Blalock retired from DuPont with more than 35 years of service. He was a dedicated family man who cherished spending time with his family. He loved gardening and was never known to speak an unkind word to anyone or about anyone. Lemuel was "one of a kind", he was one of the first male volunteers at University Hospital on the Volunteer Board.

Mr. Blalock is survived by his wife, Juanette Jones Blalock; three daughters and son-in-law, Janet Blalock, Evelyn Blalock, Anita and Danny Averette; five precious grandchildren, Rachel, James, John, Daniel and Denver; and two sisters, Ruth Curry and Mildred Gunter.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be held 2 PM, Monday, October 25, 2010 in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Pastors Richard Gasser and Leslie Pullen officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 15923, Augusta, GA 30919 or Lynndale Community Center, 1490 Eisenhower Drive, Augusta, Georgia 30904.

Ralph E. Blalock, age 88, of Banks County died Monday, April 28, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Blalock was born in Jackson County on August 24, 1919 to the late Grover Elias Blalock and Thelma Goldie Waters Blalock. He was preceded in death by his sisters Rachel Ward, and Lois Ferrini. Mr. Blalock was a member at the Damascus Baptist Church having served as a deacon of his church for number of years. He was former member of Board of Trustees of Grady School. Mr. Blalock was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran, and a retired employee with Johnson &  Johnson of Cornelia, with forty years of service. Survivors include, his beloved wife of sixty-six years , Sudie Lee Kesler Blalock, Banks County, GA, daughter and  son-in-law, Barbara and Doug Garrison, Winder, GA, daughter and  son-in-law, Emi &   Melvin Evans, Baldwin, GA, son &   daughter-in-law Charles &  Janalu Blalock, Carnesville, GA, son &  friend, Jerry Blalock &  Susan Burger, Banks County, GA, son &  daughter-in-law, Ronnie &   Carolyn Blalock, Banks County, GA. He is also survived by sisters, Mildred Gunter, Commerce, GA, and Ruth Curry, Auburn, GA and a brother, Lemuel Blalock, Augusta, GA twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Todd and Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Sudie Lee Kesler Blalock, 90 of Banks County, passed away April 30, 2009 at BJC Nursing Home. Born Sept. 3, 1918 in Banks County to the late George Mason Kesler and Sudie LeCree Cochran Kesler, she was a preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Blalock. Mrs. Blalock was a member at Damascus Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for a number of years. She retired from Chicopee Manufacturing Company with 12 years of service. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Doug Garrison, Winder, and Emi and Melvin Evans, Baldwin; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Janalu Blalock, Carnesville, Jerry and Susan Blalock and Ronnie and Carolyn Blalock, all of Banks County; sister, Ruth Cash, Maysville; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. Services were Sunday, May 3, at 4 p.m. at Damascus Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Rogers and the Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with the Rev.
